As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and many thanks to all those who have supported us in 2009. Dancealot Lady is having a few weeks off over Christmas - we like to remind our horses that they are exactly that - Horses! However she will return to full training in early spring 2010 - and her fitness levels will be maintained at our own facility in the meantime. Hurricane Spear is a fast learner and looks to be set for full training at the beginning of 2010. He is a real hero at the yard and a great favourite with our pre-training manager Justin Morgan and his staff. Shares are still available for this outstanding colt. Our low cost full ownership shares are great value as a gift so please click here for more details
NOVEMBER 2009 A busy summer of exciting racing draws to a close and our three horses have come through well. Fangfoss Girls has retained some of her shareholders as she returns to Pallingham to become a broodmare in 2010. So we have some very low cost shares available for those interested in owning part of her progeny as they go to sale. Look out for news of that next year. Dancealot Lady meanwhile is growing well and ran 4 times in the flat season. She will be entering her 3 year old season in 2010 and with her breeding we hope to see more suitable distances and races for her. She will be available fo rsyndication 2010/11.
Hurricane Spear, our beautiful yearling colt, has entered preliminary training. He has been backed and as expected is being a fantastic student. More news to follow, but we are offering special deals on low-cost shares for his first season so contact us to chat about these.
JULY 2009
24th July - Dancealot Lady saw her first race - at Chepstow. Run over 6f on soft/heavy ground, the filly broke extremely well to lead in the first furlong. She remained prominent throughout the race, but with the heavy going and the stiff uphill test, she weakened just over 2 f out - although remaining in the mix. This was always seen as a test to see how she ran and we were very pleased with how she travelled to the course and her overall approach to meeting a packed grandstand for the first time. She looked spectacular and as fit as ever. Jockey Luke Morris was impressed saying "she broke well and has a great attitude. She would suit a longer trip on better ground" We will see how she has recovered over the next few days but plan to run her again shortly, on better ground (or maybe on the all-weather) and over a 7f trip. In summary, a good learning process for all of us and of course this means that shareholders joining now will benefit from all the education and development work having been done at no cost to them!
JUNE UPDATE
FANGFOSS GIRLS
Following a patchy start to the 2009 season, Fangfoss Girls is currently showing great signs of improvement as she continues training at our facility - under the watchful eye of trainer Lawrence Wells and the Field & Country Team. The filly is far more relaxed than she has been previously and is working harder and faster because of it. We plan to race her again in the next two months, with a view to increasing her earnings (which already stand at over £9000).
HURRICANE SPEAR
Our superstar colt is growing well and continues to show signs that he will be a champion in his coming career. Although not yet broken, our team is ensuring he has good manners with the farrier and vet - and laying the foundations for when he starts preliminary training in a few months. Harry, as he has been christened, has made great friends with one of our young ponies and they certainly make a playful pair in the yard.
