Field & Country Racing - Our Approach

We are committed to finding the best horses for the budgets of our clients. Success, whilst hard-earned and certainly not guaranteed, can be more easily found with the best horses, the best preparation, choice of a successful trainer, the correct race, and a professional support team for owners. Whether you want full involvement or just the "buzz" of ownership; whether a seasoned owner or new to racing, we support you all the way.

Owners and their families are welcome to visit us, and our horses at any time.  Please call to arrange this.

By looking at breeding lines and conformation, we assess likely horses; from yearlings to older horses in training and already racing. In the case of youngstock, we have our own facility available for the preparation of a horse's career. This allows us to prepare the ground for the full training, and, as importantly, to assess what the horse is suited for and to find the best trainer for the job. It also allows us to invite owners and potential owners to visit, and have input into the assessment in the knowledge that shares are only offered in horses with the potential for success. 

Our syndicates are limited in the number of shares available to ensure that shareholders have the best service from Field and Country Racing and are assured of all the best owners' benefits, but without the lottery of large syndicates and clubs.  Our pricing is based on an equal share of the price of the horse and the "running costs".  The price you pay is guaranteed not to rise and there are no on-going charges for the term of the syndicate.  All winnings are paid according to the proportion of shares and if the horse is sold, the proceeds are divided in accordance with the shares.  Part shares are available also and each shareholding can be held by individuals or groups.

Trainers

We are proud of our links with trainers, breeders and racecourses. The trainers we choose are successful in their field and always welcome owners to visit their horses whilst in training. At the races, the trainers will be available to fully brief the owners on the horses' chances and answer questions. Our owner updates include input from trainers and stable staff.  Our current trainers include Peter Winkworth, Lawrence Wells and Gary Moore.
